PRIDE
IN THE HOUSE 2005; GROUP EXHIBITION
The Pride Festival Lauderdale House is renewing last year’s
success and giving over all of its galleries to an exhibition of
work by gay and lesbian artists. Last week, 6 finalists were selected
to exhibit and an overall winner will be announced at the private
view at 8.30pm on Thursday 23 June.
The private view is open to members of the public and provides
an excellent opportunity to see a stimulating range of work by up
and coming artists. The parkland setting of the historic Lauderdale
House (once home to Nell Gwynne) makes it the perfect place to combine
inspiration from new talent and a summer evening sipping wine on
the newly refurbished terrace! |

2ND
EDITION OF VIEWS RUSHED TO STORES
The first edition VIEWS was a runaway success and sold
out in just 6 months. It has not been available on webites like
Amazon.com since December2003. In response to the demand, the publisher
decided to rush a second edition of the book which is on its way
to stores now
That it should be a bestseller in a gay marketplace,
where sometimes books dealing with a serious pictorial narrative
do less well, is wonderful. I am even more delighted that "VIEWS"
has 'crossed over' from the gay market, onto mainstream photography
shelves (such as Zwemmer Media and The Photographers Gallery ).

"KOBI ISRAEL VIEWS" - Debut Photography Book
|
My first photography book has just been published and there are
some exhibitions planned around it.
It features images of soldiers in the Israeli army portraying
the "human" and vulnerable side (as well as the iconic
beauty and sexual attraction) of young soldiers in and out of
their uniform. All based around my own personal experience as
a soldier.
The new book is currently receiving great attention and very
flattering reviews in many photography and gay magazines around
the world ( samples) .
The "soldiers" project deals with the many conflicts
of growing up in a macho society and the thin line between "brotherly
love" between men and the homoerotic tension.
