"Judges Choice" Award by Kylie Johnston (Photography Editor, Rotovision ).

Kobi Israel's "1700" drew a rapturous response from Kylie Johnston, "…there's something dream-like and nostalgic about it. It's a very mouth-watering image."

"Charle's Bridge" is the winning Image for December 2002 The final Image of the Month competition for 2002 rounded off an excellent year's photography with a strong field of contenders. However, for our judge, ePHOTOzine editor Peter Bargh, there could only be one winner: Kobi Israel's eyecatching monochrome shot of a bridge. 'The jaunty angle and superb colour makes this one stand out as a winner,' commented Peter. 'I love the way the silhouettes fill the bridge and the power of the shooting angle. The lighting and exposure are superb and the post processing has given the image an impact that would make it worthy of being displayed on the wall."

2000 - The Millenium Project - Finalist.

More than 3500 photographers who took part in the "Millenium photography project". Only 50 photographers made it . The "2000 doves", was chosen for the award, book and time capsule collections

In April 1999 the Millennium Photo Project launched on the internet. The idea was to bring together photographers from around the world to document the passing of the millennium. Photographers in more than a hundred countries, both amateur and professional, submitted thousands of photographs from New Year's Eve. The result of their hard work is a stunning hardcover coffee table book entitled "Dawn of the 21st Century".

1998 - Profotos Staff Evaluation:

"The portfolio of Kobi Israel stands out as one which resembles the work of some of photography's most influetntial masters. Through his superior implementation of color, contrast, and composition, Kobi masterfully produces photographs which seem to be otherworldy and surreal in nature....."

One of our favorites from Kobi's portfolio is the image on this page. This image is a great representation of Kobi's overall style of superior image quality. The composition lends itself to a feeling of otherworldliness and mystery. We can make out the shapes of the people in the images, but we cannot tell what they are doing, or where they are going. The "tunnel vision" in this image, with just a liver of light seeping within the center of the frame, adds to the intrigue and mysterious mood. Photographs such as this one set a very contemplative mood for the viewer, which allows the mind to roam freely while viewing the photograph. Very well done indeed!

This image is just a small representation of Kobi Israel's work, which has won many awards and has been published in several magazines and periodicals throughout Israel and abroad. Kobi's award-winning portfolio contains many images, which are sure to open your mind and heart to contemplation and deep searching. Enjoy this portfolio, it is among the best in the world!
